Landmark is kicking off a huge national campaign by The Trust for the National Mall (official partner of the National Park Service) aimed at bringing awareness and funds to America’s Front Yard.  Each year there are 29 million visits to the mall, and as any local can attest, it has seen better days. It has been 39 years since the last major renovation of the mall, and there are currently over $750 million in backlogged repairs.

The money raised at this massive festival will go towards repairs to deteriorating monuments, landscaping, and upgrades for a more sustainable and functional park.

The jam-packed lineup is headlined by Drake, The Strokes, and alt-J.

They are joined by CHVRCHES, Ben Howard, Nate Ruess, Wale, and The War on Drugs, plus many more! Check out the entire lineup, and plan your day accordingly!

In addition to national names, there will be a strong local D.C. presence in the lineup:

Happy entering and we will see you at the festival (rocking that sweet new DCASFUCK tee).

Feel free to reply to other people’s comments. Who are you most excited for? What improvements do you want to see on the mall? Team Drake or team Meek Mill? Let us know!

Drake – obviously!! I’ve never seen him perform before and he has so many hits that I can’t wait to sing along to.

I love festivals because they always introduce me to new artists who many not have been on my radar. I’m always open to anything musically.

The best advice I’d give about attending a music festival is to live in the moment. There is so much going on, so many people and a lot of movement. Don’t become overwhelmed. Let the moment take you on a movement. Enjoy…and sing your heart out.

I’m excited to see Drake! I’m open to seeing all the other artists as well. This will be my first festival, so I have no tips to offer.

Im most excited to see Drake and Miguel perform! I am just trying to have an epic time and experience as much great music and artists as possible so I will be checking out many of the new artists. My pro-festival goer tip to offer is to brace yourself for a crazy hyped up crowd, but it’s all in good fun. Keep your cool and just enjoy the show.

I am excited to see Drake, too! I’ve been to a couple of festivals before. The all have different vibes and I love that. This may be your first, but I guarantee it will not be your last. Good luck!

I couldn’t agree more about bracing yourself. I think festivals work best when you just go with the flow…and have fun. Good luck!!

Exactly! Some people take things too seriously! I’m soo excited for DC to finally get a music festival of this caliber. I really hope I get these tickets. Good luck to you too! 😀

I would love to see Miguel perform again. I saw him when he became mainstream in 2008 at Artscape in Baltimore and want to see how he’s transformed over the years. I’m also #TEAMDRIZZYDRAKE, but never had the opportunity to see him in concert, so it would be gnarly to see him perform as well!! Those are the main artists I’m dying to see, but I’m also down for The Strokes, CHVRCHES, The Hunts and Daughters.

You’re so right with bracing yourself, for it can get really hectic. It’s also imperative to be/stay hydrated, especially for festivals.

Im totally excited for The Strokes and CHVRCHES as well. This festival will be the true epic finale to my summer. Then it’s bye bye fun and hello grind time with the books. #GradSchoolAndFullTimeWorkLife *sigh*

You’re absolutely right, it CAN get overwhelming. I’ve only been to 1 festival (MIA 2013) and it was a lot to take in. Having set artists you want to see and planning ahead will definitely help.

I usually go to Merriweather to see shows, but the crowds aren’t always as huge. I like trying new festivals. It’s cool that this one will be in the historical Washington, D.C.!
