Self-Love Mondays: What’s Good?



Hello, my loves! Welcome to another installment of Self-Love Mondays! I named this week’s article
“What’s Good?” to echo my first tip for self-love:

1) Count your blessings
I’m sure that at one point or another, everybody has felt that everything in their life sucks. It’s
easy to get bogged down by the misfortunes you experience. Dealing with hardship after
hardship can send a person spiraling into depression. One of the most crucial self-love tips I can
ever give you is to count your blessings. Literally ask yourself, “What is good”? Personally, I like
to say my blessings out loud, but you could write yours down or just marinate on them. Keep in
mind that blessings come in all shapes and sizes. Whether it’s having something to eat at the
current moment or winning the lottery, all blessings are valuable.

2) Forgive yourself
If you’re anything like me, you beat yourself up for mistakes. There’s nothing wrong with
holding yourself to a high standard. However, it becomes problematic when you don’t give
yourself room to fall short sometimes. Being too hard on yourself can impede future growth.
Don’t get it twisted, though – I’m not saying don’t hold yourself accountable! I’m saying we’re
all human and mistakes will be made. Instead of punishing yourself, learn from your
shortcomings and use those lessons to make yourself an even better person.
