Essential News & Views — 11/1/16 — On 11/16, Be A #newDC Creative & Work With The DC Government For A Day…

Maybe the one government office with which the burgeoning creative community in the Nation’s Capital should be truly familiar is the Office of Cable Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment (OCTFME). From aiding in attracting Hollywood films to be shot here to taking steps towards actively programming entertainment and more, there’s a definite desire being shown by the DC Government to be a more active conduit for advancing the interests and success of the city’s creatives at-large. Thus, in noting that OCTFME is opening their office space at 200 I St SE (only a stone’s throw away from Nationals Park and the Green Line’s Navy Yard Metro stop) on November 16 from 10 AM – 4 PM (SIGN UP HERE), it’s a massive opportunity to see what positives can come from big government and growing creativity joining forces.

OFCTFME notes the following:

Please join us for a 202Creates Co-Working Day. Bring your ideas, and creative energy and don’t forget your laptop! Grab a desk to work on your own private project. Settle into an office and collaborate with other creatives at work! Chat with staff from the Office of Cable TV, Film, Music and Entertainment; The Commission for the Arts and Humanities; and The Department of Small and Local Business who will all be on site throughout the day.

Again, the DC Government is openly asking for creatives in the film, music and entertainment industries to co-work with them for a day.

Ideally, only good can come from this…
