THIS SATURDAY: Cranksgiving DC 2017, the food drive on wheels

on

On Saturday November 18th at noon kicks of Cranksgiving DC 2017!

Cranksgiving is a food drive on two wheels. Held annually and across the nation, since 1999, Bike to the Beach launched Washington DC’s very own Cranksgiving in 2013. Since then, Bike to the Beach has teamed-p with One Love Massive and a number of community groups to host this important food drive to feed those in need.

Our version promotes cycling and supports our local community with Miriam’s Kitchen. It is part bike ride, part food drive, part scavenger hunt … an awesome event!

All of the food and items collected at local stores will be donated to Miriam’s Kitchen, a non-profit organization that serves Washington DC residents via a breakfast program, case management, and transitional housing and after-breakfast programs.

  • Registration: RSVP to this invite, $0 cost to register.
  • Times: Check-in 12:00pm, Start 12:30pm.  Finish varies on your route, average finishing times are around 3pm.
  • Distance: 12 – 25 miles depending on your route. Knowing your way around the city and aisles of a supermarket will be advantageous.
  • Cost: This is a DONATION. Recommended $20 per person and a minimum of $30 per team of 2.  Bring CASH, some locations will not accept credit cards. Keep your receipts for all purchases.  Tax receipts are available upon request from Miriam’s Kitchen.
