The Week In Review (April 24 – 28)

We had another great week of content here at One Love Massive. Here’s the latest podcast episodes from the OLM Podcast Studio and featured tracks we’ve been listening to.

Choppin’ It Up

Choppin’ It Up is a series where One Love Massive Studios gets in-depth with movers and shakers doing creative things within the context of music, arts, and entrepreneurship.

This week we have Matthew Cronin: the general manager at Echostage and one of the partners of one of D.C.’s hottest new clubs, Soundcheck.

Matt has been a prominent tastemaker in D.C. nightlife for years – helping usher in dance music in our nation’s capital during the initial #EDM boom forward. He is the general manager at Echostage: one of D.C.’s largest venues which was recently ranked by DJ Mag as the #1 Club in the United States and #8 in the world.

We sat down with him for a two part interview where OLM Founder Molly Ruland conversed with Matt to talk about dance music culture, the scene in D.C. and how it’s exploded, and the importance of how international the community is. You can stream both parts above.

Keeping It DC

What does “keeping it D.C.” mean to you? Join Corey Williams, aka CDub, in the One Love Massive creative factory every week to talk about the city, the culture, and the people of our nation’s capital.

Joining CDub in the studio is independent recording artist Davy Fresh: a DMV based hip-hop artist making waves in underground rap music.

Get Fed

This is episode 16 of #GetFed: your go to resource for food porn and nonsense hosted by Marcus Bradley Donovan (The Pasteurized Chef) and DJ/producer/fast food addict zacheser.

goop. Anthony Bourdain. KFC‘s #Zinger chicken sandwich. No one is safe on this week’s episode!

THE WEEK IN “Music on the Massive”

Prince’s soundtrack to ‘batman’ was a major influence on Zacheser’s taste in music from a young age, and this track shows it. The edit does justice to Prince’s sound while bringing it to a four in the floor beat and throwing in some of the most iconic phrases from the song.

“Wanna Be With You” is the lead single from JusPaul’s highly successful ( and new) album “13”. The way Paul’s vocal bless the track that Canibal built so perfectly really resembles warm weather. A feeling of tranquillity falls over you as you follow Paul on a lyrical journey.

Fresh off her incredible performances at the National Cannabis Festival and after sesh, Reesa Renee has released her latest visual for “Wanna” a fun, bubbly video featuring the amazing Char.

Stealf Soulja comes with an ode to the rebellion, he preaches about going against the grain and chasing your dream at whatever cost you only have one life to live and it’s in your hands.

Hannibal Gets groovy with his remix to “Sometimes” (allDatJazz) produced by Tek.Lun. We’ve always applauded rappers that could spit over jazzy beats especially in double time. And Hannibal does it effortlessly with style and grace.
