DOOM TRIO and BROTHERS BRAU at Blue Banana Friday Feb 17th w/ Special Guest!

On Friday February 17th One Love Massive is bringing The Doom Trio back to DC!  For those of you who were lucky enough to catch these guys at our Capitol Hemp Benefit back in November, you already know what’s in store.  For the rest of you, a brief introduction:  Blake Mobley, Nathan Graham, and Bradley Richmond have been playing music together for years.  As members of Basshound they established a local following but individually have gained fans all over North America.  Outside of The Doom Trio and Basshound Projects Blake is widely known for his work with heavy-electro dance floor favorite Damn Right! as well as manning the keys on Talking Heads Tribute band Psycho Killers.  Nathan Graham is also known for his drum work with his other projects including the John K. Band famous for it’s association with the legendary Grateful Dead, and Jamison and Double O Soul, a blues rock band local to Washington DC.  Bradley Richmond has held down the low end for Basshound as well as his more recent project Choptank.     Musically, these guys are all over the place,  when asked what kind of music they like, they answered, “We know we like funk. We know we like jazz. We know we like beats from all over the world and electronic grooves from all over the hard drive. When it comes down to it – it’s all that amazing music in between that keeps us interested and keeps us playing music. Think of it like a never ending map of the unknown; our vehicle is the band and we plan on seeing it all.”

Brothers Brau

DJ Freefall (DC Brau Brewing)
The DJ bug first bit Jeff back in the early to mid nineties after attending The Emerald Forest. The event featured Deee-lite from NYC and a host of local DJ’s. From then on Jeff made it his mission to find any and all jungle records and learn how to DJ this drum heavy, rhythm laden dance music. Jeff was part of some of the early DJ crews that brought jungle music to DC. Starting out with The Snowball Collective and then going on to form Step Syndicate. After establishing himself as a sought after Jungle/ DNB DJ he went on to form Catalyst DC. With Catalyst DC he threw massive events and toured the East Coast club circuit. Jeff continues to play Drum and Bass as well as Techno and Tech house under the guise Brothers Brau.

Brandon Black (DC Brau Brewing)
Brandon’s DJ career has had two relevant eras. He began djing Drum and Bass in the late 90s under the moniker Soul 4 Sale and later he gained global notoriety in the House movement of the mid 2000s as Brandon Black. He has toured in Minneapolis, New Orleans, Miami, Philly, Baltimore, and NYC in addition to his home-turf of DC. Brandon is one of the few House DJ’s from the club world to be invited to play at the legendary dc buzz party. Brandon got the desire to make music in late 2003 and has since released tunes on house labels from all over the world such as Alphabet (USA), 1200 Traxx (USA), Llama Farm (UK), Dustpan (Singapore), Dirty Boots (USA), Cleanhouse (USA), and Flatpack Traxx (UK). Currently, Brandon can be found playing Tech House and occasional DNB with DJ Freefall as The Brothers Brau.

Please join us at the Blue Banana on the 17th to see this musical Voltron assemble on stage, in an awesome display of dance floor melting rhythm and groove.
