“City of Stars” (from La La Land) With A zacheser Twist

Following an amazing start to 2017, D.C. based DJ/producer and One Love Massive collaborator zacheser is releasing his edit of the Academy Award winning tune, “City of Stars,” from the motion picture La La Land. While composer Justin Hurwitz’s original is more downtempo and melodic, zacheser’s “House Party Edit” goes down a funkier, headier route. Centering around a groove driven, 70’s style clav and atmospheric leads, the edition takes inspiration from classic deep house and funk sounds. It’s complemented by a rythmic dance pattern that goes straight to your soul.
This new edit showcases the eclectic style and eccentricity that has become a zacheser trademark. Blending his love for disco sensibilities with a focus on deep curation, his style showcases a balance and respect for classic house and 80s electronica – a style which leans into a tongue in cheek, theatrical, and emotionally uplifting territory. In 2016, zacheser released multiple remixes** which charted on HypeMachine, made his major festival debuts, and he joined our collective. 2016 also saw the birth of his “#FatBeats” passion project: a social media movement centered around the concept of body diversity in dance music and bringing body positivity to the dance music community at large. This “City of Stars” Edit is also a peek into what lies in store in the month’s ahead – a notion that should make everybody excited for future releases.

With multiple releases on the horizon for 2017, including 2 EPs of original material, zacheser is quickly becoming a rising star in independent dance and electronic music.

**Charted on Hype Machine: Kaskade & Felix Cartal, “Fakin It (zacheser Edit)”; Julia Knight, “Ghost of You (zacheser Remix)”; Ofelia K, “Bad Boys (zacheser Remix)”
